FORT WAYNE, IN β Nyaminz, the Jamaican food truck that has catered weddings, corporate lunches, grad parties, and festivals across northeast Indiana, is putting down roots. On October 30, the family-run kitchen opens its first brick-and-mortar restaurant at 3824 East State St, Fort Wayne.
The new spot brings the same food that built the truck's following β pimento-wood-smoked jerk chicken, fall-apart curry goat, whole escovitch snapper, oxtail, and the sides that make a plate feel like home β to a place customers can finally sit down and eat.
"We started the truck to cook the food we missed," the Nyaminz family said. "Fort Wayne showed up for it, and now we get to give it a home. Same jerk, same curry, same family β just with a door you can walk through."
The kitchen will be open Friday through Sunday, with catering and the food truck available all week by appointment. The full menu β from the pimento grill, the stew pots, and the sea β will be served in-house, alongside homemade sorrel, ginger beer, and peanut punch.
Catering remains a core part of the business. Nyaminz offers drop-off spreads, on-site truck service, and custom large-event catering across the region, with packages built for gatherings of 10 to 500+ guests.
